Press Release
The Organizing Committee of the Nepal Fair 2008 has requested the new Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, to become Chief Guest of the Fair to be held on 21 and 22 September 2008 in London. A letter signed by Chairman and Co-Chair of the Committee has, to that effect, been sent to Mr. Dahal already.
Held under the chairmanship of Murari Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom, the Committee unanimously decided to make the request at its meeting on 19 August 2008. The Committee also reviewed the progress made towards organizing the Fair and expressed satisfaction.
At the meeting, the Committee appreciated the British Chamber of Commerce and the London Chamber of Commerce for their generous offers to host reception and meet the Nepali business delegation coming to London for the Fair. The Committee also appreciated the Hinduja Group for their generous contribution of £2,500 to the Fair and willingness to meet the visiting delegation.
The Embassy of Nepal, British friends of Nepal and the Nepali diaspora community in the United Kingdom are jointly organizing the Fair. The event will showcase investment, trade and tourism opportunities in Nepal from which British businesses could benefit immensely.
The stalls of the Fair have been sold out. The Fair is being organized at Limkokwing University at 106 Piccadilly, London W1J 7NL. A dedicated website
www.nepalfairlondon.co.uk has been created for detailed information about the Fair and business opportunities in Nepal.
