Minutes of the Organizing Committee Meeting of

Nepal Fair 2008 London

(23 July 2008)

The preparatory meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Nepal Fair 2008 in London was held at the Embassy of Nepal, 12A Kensington Palace Gardens on 23 July 2008. This was a continuation of earlier meetings of 14 May, 13 June and 11 July, 2008. The following personalities, including Embassy officials, participated in the meeting:

Proceeding:

The Committee reviewed the progress in the preparations of the Fair since the last meeting. Co-Chair and Coordinators attending the meeting made brief presentations. Chairman Sharma and Focal Point Aryal briefed the Committee on the efforts made by the Embassy to make the Fair a success.

After careful deliberation of the agenda and the comments and suggestions made by the participants, the Committee took decisions by consensus:

Appreciated the Birmingham Chambers of Commerce for its promise to give £500/ for the Fair for publishing information given by them in the document of the Fair.

Applauded the Britain Nepal Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) and Britain Nepal Society (BNS) for their agreement to take one stall in the Fair jointly.

Appreciated Mahanta Shrestha, Coordinator (Nepali cuisine) for taking one stall in the Fair and commended Mr. Shrestha for agreeing to get interested parties to run the Nepali food stall or do it himself.

Also commended Ashish Pant, Publicity Coordinator, for his regular updating of the Fair's website.

Agreed that every member of the Committee would make all out efforts to publicise the Fair, generate resources, and develop contact with potential exhibiters, promoters, traders, investors, travel tour operators, etc. for their participation, support and cooperation.

Also agreed to hold next follow up meeting of the Committee on 19 August 2008 at 18:30 hrs at the Embassy of Nepal.
