Minutes of the Organizing Committee Meeting of
Nepal Fair 2008 London
(05 September 2008
)A preparatory meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Nepal Fair 2008 in London was held at the Embassy of Nepal, 12A Kensington Palace Gardens on 05 September 2008. This was in continuation of earlier meetings of 14 May, 13 June, 11 July, 2008, 23 July 2008 and 19 August 2008. The following personalities, including Embassy officials, participated in the meeting:

Proceeding:
The Committee reviewed the progress in the preparations of the Fair since the last meeting. The Chair, Co-Chairs, Coordinators, Treasurer and Focal Points made brief presentation on their respective areas of responsibilities.
After careful deliberation of the agenda and the comments and suggestions made by the participants, the Committee took a number of decisions by consensus.

Reviewed the updated programme and approved. Also requested the Publicity Coordinator to upload in the Fair's website.
Accepted the offer for DFID Minister Shahid Malik's video-taped statement to be played at the inaugural of the Fair on 21 September 2008 as he would not be able to be present physically due to the Labour Party Conference at Manchester.
Decided to provide lunch coupons and water to Chief Guest, Members of the Fair Organizing Committee, Experts on investment, trade and tourism, Artists of Cultural Team and Volunteers.
Entrusted Mr. Amol Gurung, Venue Coordinator, to allocate the stalls to the stall keepers and Mr. Gurung also agreed to display room direction of the venue and decorate with flags and banners.
Agreed to issue invitation to 3 FNCCI delegates including the President instead of 9 requested by them.
Also agreed to send some people to relevant business districts to distribute Fair fliers and brochures to businesses related to trade, investment and tourism and pay minimum wages to them, and Mr. Amol Gurung assured that he would find such people, including students.
Approved the deferral of press meeting from 04 September to 10 September 2008.
Requested to all Committee Members to be present at the press meeting to be held at the Embassy at 17:00 hrs on 10 September 2008 to be followed by dinner.
Authorized the Chair/Publicity Coordinator to publish an advertisement on the Fair for a day in the Financial Times if the press coverage after the press conference was not found satisfactory.
Agreed to hold next meeting of the Committee on 15 September 2008 at 18:30 hrs at the venue (Limkokwing University, 106 Piccadilly, London W1J 7NL).
